Fifteen minutes later it was 6:50 p.m and D.K and Kirby were well dressed; trying to find the dining room by asking numerous Toads. Mario and Peach were also dressed and prepared to go to dinner.
Peach: “ Um, Mario.”
Mario: “ Yeah?”
Mario was putting black and white buttons on his shirt cuffs.
Peach: “ How many lies have you told me?”
Mario whenced for a minute; missing the buttons from his cuffs.
Mario: “ I never lie to you babe.”
Peach: “ Please don't lie to me. I want to know the whole truth! Please....”
At that moment, Peach started to shed heavy tears. The makeup on her face started to move along it like a river.
Peach: “ I'm a good wife, aren't I?If its about pleasing you, I'll do better. Just let me in. When we were dating, you would tell me everything. So please, let me in. You have no idea how much I love you.”
Mario hesitated for a minute then spook in a calm voice.
Mario: “ Peach, I love you, I really do. And I would tell you anything major that happens to me. But, there are somethings in my past and my life that cannot be revealed right now. You have to understand.....”
A flashback appeared in Mario's mind that almost brought him to tears in front of Peach.

    Kon's staff had hitten Mario across his face and knocked him on the wet ground. Blood ran from one side of his face while raindrops and tears ran down the other.
Mario: “ Bastard! You stupid bastard!”
Kon: “ Teh. Call me names all you want,kid. But, in the end, you lost the job, you lost the girl, and you lost your life. You're nothing more than a failure now.”
Then Kon turned his back on Mario and walked back into Pauline's living room. Mario looked angrily at Pauline with fierce eyes.
Mario: “ Why him? Why Kon?”
Pauline: “ Because, unlike you, Kon can please me without regrets.”
Mario: “ But, I already told you. I want to have it when we get married. Can't you understand that?”
Pauline: “ No, sorry. I can't. Anyway, with Kon being a lead officer in the Jumpmen, I can be protected from harm. Aside of that, you act too much like a kid.”
Mario stood to his feet. He could only look at Pauline in disgust.
Mario: “ Luigi was right about you. He was right and I didn't listen!”
And he ran. He ran down the street faster and faster, until the flashback was over.
